The Connection Point is a Bible study setting in which adults can live out Jesus’ Great Commission to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). Therefore, its structure encourages transformation (change) and transference (exchange) in the context of koinonia, intimate fellowship with God and other believers. Transformation is about growing in the likeness of Christ. It is about intentionally connecting to Christ through His word and to one another through sharing and living that word together. Transference is intentionally giving God’s word and the Christ life away to others by leading them to faith in Christ and helping them and other believers to grow up in Christ, so that they too can be fit to spiritually nurture others. A variety of studies are offered for the Fall and Winter semesters.
The leader and coaches in this group provide 10 weeks of follow-up for new believers, for believers who are new to Bible study, or mature believers who want to learn how to help ground believers in their relationship with Christ. Guided by an experienced coach, group members learn the foundational truths about their relationship with Christ and how to practice the spiritual disciplines that are necessary to experience intimacy and growth in their relationship with Christ. Those truths include lessons on Confidence, Acceptance, Empowerment and Development. Those disciplines include daily Bible reading, meditating, praying, memorizing, applying and sharing the Word.
The School of Discipleship is our weekday study for adult 18 and beyond who want an additional opportunity for study or for those who work on Sundays during the main Bible study time. This evening session allows more teaching and discussion time. Join us as we seek to grow deeper as students of the Word! Classes met Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. 9:00 p.m. September to June.
